Giving Back … And Helping Kids

0 Now this is a face that many of us know (and yes, you know the rest of the phrase)
And if you don’t know him from this wonderful photo, it is Pat Schrager, VP Global Distribution for Panduit.
But think of how Pat will look when he is bald!
That’s right, on March 20th, Pat is shaving his head shaved at a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event at the Quest – 1204 w Lincoln Hwy Schererville, IN, US 46375 (I wish I was going to be in Chicago then.) According to an email he sent to many of his friends, “With my bald head, I’ll stand in solidarity with kids being treated for cancer. But that’s not the main reason. Most important, I’m doing this to raise money for life-saving research.”
Pat is trying to raise money for cancer research and has set a $5000 goal (which as an industry we should surely be able to surpass.) The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. In 2010 alone, they gave over $14 million – that’s more in grants for childhood cancer research than any other organization except the U.S. government. And all because nearly 38,000 people shaved their heads!
I’ve known Pat since my IMARK days. A quality person giving of himself to help others. And he’s promised that we can post his post-Baldrick’s photo.
So, if you believe that kids should have the research and resources to fit cancer, stand with Pat and helping him reach, and exceed, his goal. We can vicariuosly get our heads shaved through Pat. Let’s help him exceed, perhaps double, his goal. You can donate by clicking here.
And if you see Pat at the NAED SouthCentral in San Antonio, wish him well.
