Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Sales
This Vice President of C&I Sales role is for a very progressive electrical distributor. They are seeking a Vice President of C&I Sales who will oversee the daily operations of the sales function company wide for this $100M plus electrical distributor. This position works under the general direction of their assigned manager and serves as a member of the Leadership Team for the Company. This position reports to the President of the company. The ideal candidate will have distribution management experience in a multi branch operation. They will have working knowledge of the industry and lighting and switch gear applications.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the sales function.
- Works with other members of the management team to implement short- and long-range Company goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Specific responsibilities include: interviewing and hiring employees, training employees; directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees and appraising performance.
- Develops and implements the strategic sales objectives of the Company.
- Responsible for attaining new business goals. Develop new business budgets and report results on a quarterly basis. Determines and executes new business development strategies for all channels, which includes account based and territory based strategies and management to maximize the likelihood of attaining new business goals. Along with Marketing identifies new market opportunities.
- Generate new business, increase customer loyalty and increase awareness of Company identity through the implementation of marketing programs by using all communications, public relations and advertising campaigns.
- Develop key relationships with customers, vendors and associates. Responsible for trade shows, field visits, preparing and delivering sales proposals, participation in industry trade associations and other customer related activities as needed.
- Establish a comprehensive understanding of the market and of the competition. Evaluate and recommend changes to the company’s products and pricing strategies related to competition and existing market conditions.
- Provide support and advice for significant collection issues.
