Thanks and …
It was 9 years ago today that Allen Ray from Allen Ray Associates and David Gordon from Channel Marketing Group decided to collaborate and launch ElectricalTrends as a resource for the electrical distribution industry.
The goal of ElectricalTrends has been to share marketplace observations, identify trends, comment on industry happenings and hopefully generate discussion to help readers consider alternative ideas to improve their business.
And today marks the ninth anniversary of ElectricalTrends.
Over the years we have heard feedback from many of you, and we appreciate it.
Over the nine years we have:
- Written over 800 articles
- A subscribed, net, following of over 1800 individuals in the channel (we’ve had people sign up, unsubscribe, change jobs, leave the industry, etc so, over time the number of unique subscribers has exceed 3000)
- Had over 232,000 visits and almost 500,000 pages viewed
- And each month we get between 4500-8000 visits.
This past year we had
- 35,056 visitors
- 98,248 page views
So, thank you for your readership. as we now start our 10th year.
And as we reach this milestone, Allen has announced his retirement. After over 40 years in the distribution industry he has decided to spend more time with his lovely wife Carole traveling, spending time at the ranch, enjoying the grand children and, hopefully, relaxing a little.
Many know that he was a distributor, then was involved in ERP software sales as well as selling pricing tools and for many years was a distribution consultant helping distributors improve profitability through price optimization, ERP evaluation and effectiveness and operational enhancements to drive throughput and profitability. I’ve known Allen for almost 20 years, have enjoyed our friendship and we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on a number of client projects, enabling clients to benefit from our joint expertise.
Allen, thank you for your contributions to ElectricalTrends, to the industry and to your clients. (Allen has also authorized ElectricalTrends to continue to publish his postings to support electrical distributors and manufacturers … hoping that they can continue to benefit from his insights.)
Again, thank you for your readership over the past nine years and I look forward to continuing to share with you in the coming year.
