We need your input regarding Q1 by Friday, March 19th.
2021 is already starting out to be an “interesting” year. Consider
- Many, if not all, lighting manufacturers have announced price increases that have either gone into effect or will be going into effect. This is promoted as covering increased material costs and the increase changes by product category.
- Most, if not all, suppliers are having some supply chain disruption, especially product coming from Asia, and some question if there is an end in sight.
- We’ve heard of COVID-induced factory issues in Mexico.
- Some distributors had a strong January.
- February was, shall we say, “variable” due to the array of weather throughout the country. With what occurred in Texas, it can be said that many lost a week’s worth of time.
- The residential market remains strong, especially renovation, but that has nominal benefit for most distributors.
- The industrial market seems to be growing.
- New commercial construction … depends upon the market and the large construction market is suspect.
But prospects are hopeful, and business appears to be improving from what was forecasted in our Q4 2020 Pulse of Lighting Report.
The true test, and insights, however, come from you. Let us know what is happening in your market and how your lighting business is doing. They survey only takes 1-3 minutes. The report back to you is free.
