Content Marketing Lead Needed, Writing for Lighting
We’ve been asked to share a role that is opening in the industry. It combines writing and lighting.
If you like to write content and have an interest in lighting, this could be your next opportunity.
A client, for whom we are helping develop a strategy, is seeking someone who, ideally, has an interest in lighting and can manage their content marketing strategy.
The role is akin to an editor / publisher. You’ll be the manager of this domain.
What you’ll do
Consider yourself a distributor of lighting content to influence designers, contractors, end-users and your sales organization.
You’ll …
- Write for your blog
- Write and share on social
- Perhaps conduct interviews for podcasts and webinars
- Eventually be able to travel to lighting shows
- Interview lighting suppliers and thought leaders
- Write case studies to support sales and generate opportunities
- Set the editorial calendar in concert with team leaders
- Curate supplier press releases
- Manage the content on the site
- Maybe write some eBooks and/or white papers
- Do some research
- Contribute ideas to help the site, and the marketing strategy, evolve over time.
Lighting, as a percent of the client’s business, is significant and they envision this role evolving over time. Depending upon the right candidate’s availability, the role could start part-time while the content and marketing strategy is developing and evolving into full-time … perhaps even into a small team as an ROI on the strategy can be shown to senior management.
It’s an exciting opportunity with a progressive group with some opportunity for international involvement and, potentially, becoming the “lighting face” of the business.
Obviously key skill sets are writing, research, editing, some social marketing skills would be helpful as well as, ideally, some lighting background. Must be independent, a self-starter, a project manager able to meet deadlines and creative. And yes, it is a remote position although it is US-based and the individual should be in tune with the targeted US audiences.
So, if you know lighting, lighting controls, building automation, have a passion for lighting and writing … and it doesn’t make a difference if you come from distribution, manufacturing, the publication world / journalism or “the moon”, let us know of your interest.
Channel Marketing Group is helping the client develop the strategy and they’ve asked us to reach out to ElectricalTrends readers. Send your resume, in confidence, and we’ll forward to our client. If you are concerned about whom the client is, mention in your email if there are any companies that are “no no’s.” Since we’re helping them with the strategy, we’ve got the vision for the role, which is why no recruiter is involved (and why they are not having their internal HR / recruitment department involved.)
And if you want to talk first, send an email with a little background and we can arrange a call.
