Topaz Insulated Bonded Bushings for Solar
Staying on top of industry trends, Topaz is excited to launch their innovative new Insulated Bonding Bushings, ideal for solar photovoltaic applications.
Developed specifically for the growing solar industry, these bushings are designed to be corrosion resistant, offer a UV-resistant plastic liner to withstand harsh rooftop conditions, and protect wires from high winds.
In addition, the tin-plated copper lay-in grounding lug can be used for bonding a jumper wire to a neutral bus bar.
A few offerings include:
- ¾” Solar Insulated Bonding Bushings, Zinc
- ¾” Solar Insulated Bonding Bushings, Malleable Iron
- 1-1/2″. Malleable Iron, Solar Insulated Bonding Bushings
- 2″ Zinc Solar Insulated Bonding Bushings
All can be used for indoor and outdoor applications.
Michael Balsamo, Topaz VP of Product Management, said, “As the renewable, and especially the solar, industry has grown in recent years, we have found the opportunity to create an exclusive product to meet the needs of solar industry contractors.
We are happy to be the first in the market to offer fittings that do not have to be modified to fit the very specific demands of rooftop installations.”
Shane Reed of Sun Tribe Solar was one of the first contractors to try Topaz’s Insulated Bonding Bushings. He said, “The ability to purchase a listed product that is manufactured specifically for this application will provide an enormous labor-saving benefit to electrical contractors performing this work. Additionally, developers and asset owners can have confidence that Topaz’s bushings provide a reliable grounding system.”
For many electrical distributors, solar is a growth area. With the focus on renewable energy, this will become an accelerating growth segment for more electrical contractors … and hence electrical distributors.
This innovation continues Topaz’ commitment to introducing new products to support electrical distributors.
