2021 in Review – Thank You and Happy New Year
With the year quickly coming to a close I wanted to say, “thank you for your readership of ElectricalTrends.”
2021 was the 14th year of ElectricalTrends, and I hope the information, observations, and insights we share are beneficial to you and, at times, enable you to bring ideas to your business and create opportunities for you to see some things, perhaps, a little differently.
This year we had more subscribers than ever before, more articles posted and more pageviews than ever. For this I have to thank you, our reader, and those who contributed content to ElectricalTrends (Ken Cain, Gene Biben, Linda Longo, Christian Sokoll) as I’ve sought to being more variety. And occasionally we’ve had some guest contributors on specific topics that I think are beneficial to the entire electrical ecosystem. And if there are other topics you’d like us to write about, or topics to research (we have some information on engineer eCommerce interests coming), let me know.)
When I started ElectricalTrends in August 2007, the goal was to provide insights and observations to the industry and, yes selfishly as someone once told me being occasionally selfish helps pays the bills, generate opportunities for the consulting business (Channel Marketing Group) where I, and now we, can help manufacturers, distributors, manufacturer reps / lighting agents, technology companies and associations more directly achieve their goals. I hope we’ve been successful.
This year, the most read articles were:
- Rising Metal Prices, the Why and Possible Consequences
- Graybar, WESCO, Rexel Q1 Earnings
- Acquisitions Heat Up, Size Matters
- 6 Contractor Trends Affecting Distributor Relationships
- Acquisitions Start Second Half with a Bang
- $5 Copper Coming or Averted
- Electrical Distribution is Booming But…
- Southwire 2 Acquisitions in 2 Weeks
- Expectations of Reps Drives Model Options
- Rexel Acquires Mayer
Overall, we posted over 150 articles, press releases and new product introductions as well as our quarterly Pulse of Lighting reports. In total we had over 125,000 page views (click here if you want your company’s press releases / new product introductions promoted and here if you’d like to advertise as we accept non-manufacturer advertising in the right-hand column and periodically a banner ad is available to manufacturers above the “More Insights” section – contact me.)
Again, thank you for another great year. May you and your family have a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
David
