Position Summary:
The Sales Engineer works directly with customers to implement product-based solutions. Target new accounts while increasing sales volume through existing OEM and end users. Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships by developing business through travel and providing excellent customer service.
Essential Duties:
- Educate and influence OEMs and consulting engineers to specify company products by effectively presenting technical products and applications.
- Contact potential new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific Kirk Key products and services.
- Work with Director of Core Sales to develop marketing action plan and sales targets in territory. Develop individual sales plan to ensure the achievement of targets.
- Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop and present innovative technical presentations that promote products and applications.
- Attend trade shows as necessary to increase awareness of products.
- Manage and negotiate contracts on all accounts.
- Routinely track and communicate sales pipeline, sales prospects, and competitive threats.
- Work with New Product Development team as a voice of the customer to enhance current product offerings and introduce new products.
- Work closely with Inside Sales team to establish order processes to continuously drive internal and external efficiency.
- Maintain company visibility in various standards committees, associations, and organizations.
- Travel to customer sites and projects as needed, 50% – 70% travel.
