2024 Q1 Pulse of Lighting Survey now Open
This week may be all about lighting as 8,000-10,000 people converge on the New York Hilton to attend LEDucation, wandering down the aisles of multiple ballrooms as they take in 350-400 manufacturer booths.
LEDucation is now the largest gathering of lighting professionals, and its questionable if it will cede that title when LightFair reconvenes next year.
If you sell or quote lighting and are not attending, you, or your company, should register for the virtual training sessions which are reportedly so good that a number of them are sold out for those attending in person. If you can still register, do, as the industry needs more trained lighting professionals to help generate more demand for quality lighting (and to drive manufacturer sales!)
And if you are not attending, subscribe to US Lighting Trends as our editors will be reporting on the show, and some of the sessions, over the next month or so.
Speaking of lighting, it’s time for our 2024 Q1 Pulse of Lighting survey. The survey is open until March 26. All input is confidential and data inputs are in ranges, so no confidential input is shared. Respondents can receive a free report of the results. Historically over 200 electrical / lighting distributors, lighting manufacturers, and independent manufacturer representatives / lighting agents respond.
Input this quarter will be interesting given:
- At least one conglomerate reported a double digit decline last year. Is it continuing?
- Other conglomerates have reported a challenging quarter.
- Some of the value-engineering oriented lines have shared smaller declines, some with a little growth.
- Distributor feedback is all across the board. Some down a little, some flat, and a few are up decently.
In other words, there is no “rhyme or reason” to the market from a revenue perspective, however, all report good quotation activity.
You’re living the market. Let us know what you are experiencing, and we’ll share what each audience is seeing to help you benchmark yourself against the industry.
