Happy New Year … Top 24 for 2024
As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to thank you for your support, interest, input, and most importantly, friendship over the years.
This year has been another busy year.
Aside from our consulting work on behalf of manufacturers, manufacturer reps, distributors, and some service providers, we also
- Published the Pulse of Lighting each quarter.
- Researched the Manufacturer of the Future Report for NEMRA (and we’re finishing the new Rep of the Future Report)
- Continued to share insights in the HVACR industry while also guiding content and advertising efforts for US Lighting Trends
- And published 154 articles on ElectricalTrends which resulted on over 120,000 page views!
The goal of ElectricalTrends when Allen Ray and I launched it in mid-2007 was to have a self-controlled communications vehicle where we could share ideas, insights, and observations on what we see, and sometimes foresee, that manufacturers, distributors, and manufacturer reps / lighting agents, as well as service providers, could capitalize upon to improve their business. The goal is to help everyone improve their top and bottom lines.
While ElectricalTrends has evolved to have some advertisers (yes, bills have to get paid!), over the years an “independent” streak has been maintained as rather than simply “report” on industry happenings, the core business of Channel Marketing Group, is to share ideas to grow your business. That ethos carries over to ElectricalTrends (and now to HVACRTrends and shortly one in another industry.)
But, most importantly, my goal is to bring ideas to you, to give you something to consider that could improve your business.
I hope I’m delivering for you (and it’s a sample of what I do for clients.)
And I’d like to thank Gene Biben for his wise counsel and his article contributions. He brings a different perspective that, at times, reminds us that, perhaps, business doesn’t have to be so complicated if we remember the end goal.
Moving into 2025 you’ll start to see content under another name … John Gunderson.
Some of you may know John from his Modern Distribution Management (MDM), HD Supply, or Crescent Electric days. He has been in the distribution space for 25+ years and brings much experience in the pricing / profitability / category management area as well as market research. He’ll also be sharing content on HVACRTrends and our other sites (and helping on US Lighting Trends.)
So, on behalf of Channel Marketing Group and my family, thank you for another great year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday last week with your family and I wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
I look forward to seeing you on the conference circuit, or perhaps in your office, and feel free to call (or email or text!) with any ideas or topics, you’d like to see in ElectricalTrends.
David
