District Sales Manager – Southeastern U.S
This District Sales Manager role is with a large electrical manufacturer in the electrical protective relays sector and fuses sector. This position will be located in the southeastern US and has responsibility for the key southeastern US district which includes, AL, FLA, GA, NC, SC, TN and VA. This position can be located anywhere within this geography. This high visibility position encompasses strategic and tactical planning, working in the field with your distributor and independent manufacturer rep organizations, marketing and selling new products to customers and managing the sales funnel. We are looking for a candidate with an engineering degree with power products, or electrical controls background.
Major responsibilities:
- Increase revenue in area of responsibility primarily through strategic sales management of independent manufacturers’ representatives
- Continuously improve relationships with key large distributors and end-customers through direct interaction
- Create and communicate strategic sales plans including detailed sales forecasts.
- Communicate to marketing distributor and end-customer needs for new products, marketing materials and promotions
- Maintain or increase division profitability
- Strategically expand channel through distributor conversions including cross selling of all products.
- Insure all reps, ISRs and salespeople, are properly trained on all products
- Grow current distributor’s sales and market share in your district
- Deliver new product ideas and concepts to product management
- Successfully launch and implement new product launches and promotions
- Plan, prepare and schedule for annual NAED, NEMRA and any other key meetings or presentations
Desired Skills and Experience:
The District Sales manager will have:
- strong technical sales skills
- ability to work closely with key accounts and generate revenue
- desire to build strong business relationships with the channel to market including distributors and reps.
- Individual contributor, motivated, aggressive , seasoned executive
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
