Hermann Joins Werner Electric; Promises Dog
Minnesota’s Werner Electric traveled to rival state Wisconsin to recruit its next VP Sales and Marketing.
According to its press release, Mike Hermann, formerly of Rockwell, is joining the company as VP Sales and Marketing.
In this year of celebration, excitement and challenge, we can include the addition and welcoming of Mike Hermann to Werner Electric as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mike will assume responsibilities for overseeing talented teams in Industrial Automation, Construction, Energy, Services and Marketing. Mike’s expertise as a strategic leader, understanding of distribution and sales will be an asset as Werner
continues to grow its product and services portfolio. Mike is making this
transition following a prosperous 20-year career with Rockwell Automation in sales, channel and product strategy, as well as his most recent role in the Channel Access team developing distributor and partner programs.
Werner Electric President, Ben Granley enthusiastically stated, “Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our company but specifically, his strengths in having a clear vision for the future, strong understanding of our distribution world and fostering relationships make him an outstanding addition to our already strong team.”
Hermann is looking forward to joining the Werner team and contributing in a new capacity. “Werner is doing more than a couple things right. The people, the culture, commitment to the community and to their customers make it a wonderful place to work.” He is excited about working with the Business, Sales and Marketing teams on further understanding the customers’ and future customers’ businesses delivering on the Werner purpose of providing an exceptional customer experience.
Mike and his family are making the move from Milwaukee, WI to Minnesota and are excited for the change. Mike’s wife, Lori has worked for General Mills for 18 years and welcomes a shorter commute. They love everything outdoors, including Mike’s love for smoking foods of all kinds. And kids, Thomas (12), Anna (10), and Zoe (8) will be able to take advantage of all the great hiking, biking, golfing, skiing and sports that their new community has to offer.
Mike’s first day is June 29..
Fun Fact: It is rumored that Mike has promised the kids a dog when the
move is complete.
Congratulations to Mike and welcome to the world of small contractors (not a core Rockwell audience!), construction, commodities, especially wire, working with reps and agents and dealing with DSOs. It’ll be a new challenge.
And as an aside, Werner is conducting an industry wide “select the dog” contest in Mike’s honor. Guess what type of dog his kids will choose and Werner will give the lucky winner a prize. Could it be a golden retriever? A lab? Perhaps a dachshund, poodle, Shi Tzu or a Rottweiler? Or something else? Share your guess below. Add your name / company so Werner can reach out.
