Pat’s Head for Money
We always knew Pat Schrager was the consummate salesperson. Sets a goal of raising $10,000 for St. Baldrick’s and then exceeds his goal by 60%, generating $16,000 for a worthy cause.
As you’ll recall, Pat annually shaves his head to help raise funds for children with cancer. He did it again last weekend and now has raised over $40,000. Congratulations Pat.
Here’s his words:
I wanted to send you a special thank you. It’s incredible what we can do when we put our
heads together. In this case, it was my head and your money! Yes, I did have my head shaved at a St. Baldrick’s event. Thank you for helping me raise over $16,000 for childhood cancer research. You donations have help me raise over $40,000 in the 5 years that I have been participating in St Baldrick’s, and I can’t thank you enough.
As promised, I have attached a picture (post shaved). This year, I have also attached a more important picture. I had the privilege to having Allison Slaughter shave my head. Allison is a 17 year old cancer survivor and I am happy to say, has been cancer free for 10 years. You generosity is greatly appreciated.
St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer-driven charity, which keeps fundraising costs low and grants high. I’m proud to be a part of this Foundation that funds more for childhood cancer research grants than any other organization except the U.S. government. With our bald heads, St. Baldrick’s “shavees” stand in solidarity with infants, children, teens and young adults fighting cancer. More important, the funds we raised will truly help save lives. To see how your donation is being put to work, you can always see the grants (“where the money goes”) at www.StBaldricks.org. New grants are made in July and October. This year you and I will be funding some of those grants! This was a fun way to do something very important, and if you want to hear more about it, please let me know. It’s never too early to plan on getting involved next year – and donations are accepted year-round. I truly appreciate your support to help me reach my fundraising goal, and mostly to help save the lives of kids right here in our community and around the world. Thank you! Sincerely,
Pat
