CED Grows the Next Generation of Its Management
As an industry we lament the fact that we rarely higher people from outside the industry let alone are afraid to “grow our own” people in fear that someone else will hire them. One company that is not afraid to invest for tomorrow is CED as evidenced by their internship program.
And for a company that keeps a low profile, we’ve uncovered some publicly available information. And in reality, the industry isn’t the audience for the information. CED is using social marketing initiatives consisting of a blog and Facebook as ways to reach out to “the next generation.” They realize that they need to reach future employees they way they receive information (and perhaps someday communicate to customers the same way).
And while you’re reading the blog, make sure to check out each profit center’s website. They differ, but some of them are pretty good based upon a “distributor standard.”
And as an aside, it’s interesting that CED calls it’s branches “profit centers”. After all, isn’t that what we want our branches to produce?
Are you hiring? How are you recruiting new people? What success have you had in growing your own people?
