Schaedler Yesco Positions for Western PA Growth
Schaedler Yesco Distribution, one of Pennsylvania’s largest independent electrical distributors, announced plans for an RDC in western Pennsylvania. Currently the company has 4 locations in western PA.
According to its press release, “Fourth-generation, family-owned Schaedler Yesco Distribution, Inc. has announced the purchase of a 90,000 square foot building in Lower Burrell, PA in Westmoreland County.
On May 10, Farrah Mittel, president of Schaedler Yesco, advised company employees of the purchase.
“Next month we will close on the purchase of a new facility in Lower Burrell, PA, just 15 miles northeast of our current Pittsburgh location,” she announced. “We have long known that our western market holds plenty of opportunities. Over the last few years, we have been diligently looking in that area for a facility conducive to growing our inventory and services so we can win a larger piece of those opportunities.”
The building, in Burrell Plaza along Leechburg Road, formerly housed a J.C. Penney location and has been vacant for many years. It offers both the space and geographic location to serve the company’s Western PA customers.
“We’ll begin the design and construction phase very quickly after closing,” said CEO, Greg Schaedler. “We’re excited to put life back into this building. Not only will it be a great facility to serve our customers, but we’re eager to be part of the local community.”
The company expects to open in Summer 2023.”
With the new RDC slightly north of the city, the increased resources devoted to the geography are an indication of the potential in the marketplace. From personal knowledge, Pittsburgh has been undergoing a renaissance with much redevelopment and the area is attracting new businesses.
Schaedler Yesco’s investment into the market may portend further personnel, service and expansion into the market as well as an opportunity to provide additional resources and support for its current branches.
