IRISS Represents New Sales & Representation Opportunity
Industrial reshoring, which is driving industrial investment; electrification; supply chain issues; utility investments, data centers and more have driven a rise in “new” suppliers supporting electrical distribution.
These companies, many previously unknown to electrical distributors, are now seeing the advantages of opening another “channel” to their markets and seek to sell through electrical distribution.
In many cases they have sold “direct” to large entities or via other channels.
One such company is IRISS. I met them at the NAED National and, coincidentally, their SVP Sales and Marketing is an old friend who used to work with Eaton … so he is very familiar with the electrical channel.
IRISS sells inspection infrared (IR) windows, online monitoring devices and Ultrasound test equipment technology. Many of their products are found within others’ products (hence it is their OEM market) with other products sold to the power generation, mining, processing and manufacturing, marine and other markets, inclusive of applications for commercial facilities. And they are in two of the fastest growing market segments – data centers and utilities!
They’ve been selling globally since 1997 and are headquartered in Florida. Given their investments over the past few years, their future go-to-market, and growth, strategy, is through electrical distribution.
Recently they partnered with their first manufacturer representative and now have representation in 12 states throughout the Southeast and Gulf Coast and are selling through more than 300 distributor locations.
After learning more, and given that they are an established company, I thought it would be a good opportunity to introduce them to more electrical distributors and independent electrical manufacturer representatives (our readers), as another supplier that can help you generate opportunities, and extended an offer to them to share more about the company.
IRISS Inc.: A Leader in Electrical Maintenance Safety Solutions
IRISS Inc. is a global company specializing in the design and manufacture of industrial-grade Electrical Maintenance Safety Devices, including infrared (IR) windows and other condition-based maintenance solutions. Founded with a vision to enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of electrical systems, IRISS Inc. has become a global leader in electrical maintenance safety.
IRISS Inc. is dedicated to providing innovative products and services that help industries maintain safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems. The company’s solutions are designed to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and ensure the safety of maintenance personnel.
IRISS have several core product lines and solutions for the industrial market:
Infrared (IR) Windows
These windows provide a means for infrared cameras or sensors to detect heat patterns and temperature anomalies without opening the equipment, thus maintaining safety and reducing inspection time.
Safe Connect
Safe Connect is an award-winning range of thermochromic overtemperature indicators that attach directly to live equipment. Intermittent faults can be difficult to detect. When an overtemperature event occurs, these products permanently change color, providing a visual indication that maintenance is required.
Asset Management Solution
E Sentry is a tailor-made cloud suite designed to boost efficiency, extend asset lifespans, and slash costs for teams focused on operations, maintenance, and repairs.
Handheld Infrared and Ultrasound Equipment
IRISS carries a range of ultrasound, infrared, and partial discharge detection equipment. While our inspection windows and maintenance solutions are product agnostic—they don’t require a certain brand of handheld—we have curated a range of devices based on superior performance and affordability that we can recommend to our customers.
Training and Services
IRISS Inc. offers comprehensive training programs and services to educate maintenance professionals on the best practices for electrical inspections and condition-based maintenance. These programs ensure that personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform inspections safely and effectively.
Why IRISS?
IRISS products are designed to enhance the safety of maintenance personnel by allowing inspections to be conducted without opening electrical enclosures, thus reducing the risk of arc flash incidents. Next Steps / Learn About IRISS
While IRISS may not be known within electrical distribution, I guarantee you that you have sold products that include IRISS products within them. This is one of those opportunities where you can sell “what’s inside” (hence a component) for new opportunities as well as the MRO and retrofit markets.
I encourage you to reach out to them to learn more. If you are a manufacturer rep and are interested to talk to senior sales management, email me and I’ll facilitate an introduction for your agency.
