Marsh Joins ArchLIGHT. Increased Focus on Controls?
In a sign of the importance of lighting controls as a growth segment of the lighting industry, ArchLIGHT Summit, the Dallas Market Center’s lighting show which it held in September, announced
Webster Marsh to Lead ArchLIGHT Education & Programming
According to a posting on US Lighting Trends:
“ArchLIGHT Summit, the commercial and architectural lighting trade event held annually at the Dallas Market Center (DMC), has announced that C. Webster Marsh has joined the organization as Director/Education & Programming. In this role, he will curate and assemble the show’s CEU sessions, showroom tours, and university sessions for students, further strengthening the event’s reputation for delivering high-value programming that is experiential and collaborative.
Marsh will collaborate closely with Show Director Lea Tranakos; Laura Van Zeyl, VP/Marketing for Lighting; and the ArchLIGHT Summit advisory board to develop top-tier educational programming. Together they will identify and recruit thought leaders and inspiring speakers, with special emphasis on CEUs directed at health, safety, and welfare.
“Webster brings an exceptional combination of technical expertise, industry credibility, and a true passion for education,” said Cindy Morris, President & CEO of DMC. “His leadership will elevate our programming and build upon the momentum ArchLIGHT Summit has achieved as a destination for meaningful learning and connection.”
Webster Marsh is a lighting controls designer for Sladen Feinstein Integrated Lighting, where he delivers high-quality controls designs and specifications. He is a Certified Lighting Controls Practitioner (CLCP), Education Manager for the Lighting Controls Academy, and an instructor for the Southern California Edison Energy Education Centers. Lighting Controls
The increased focus on lighting controls is also corroborated in early results from our Q4 Pulse of Lighting survey as respondents to the question “what will be key drivers of your 2026 lighting initiatives” have frequently mentioned “lighting controls.”
With many lighting manufacturers offering lighting control solutions, in addition to lighting control / wiring device “specialists,” the market is getting much attention, at least within the channel and to sales organizations (rep / lighting agents, direct sales specialists, and being promoted to contractors and specifiers.) The LCA (Lighting Controls Association) also seeks to drive visibility while sharing insights.
The industry challenge, and hence the challenge for every manufacturer and distributor that seeks to strengthen their business in this product category (and hence drive their lighting business) is to increase buyer interest so that they desire the functionality and do not consider it as “optional.”
