Improving Your Website Visibility Inexpensively
For distributors who seek to position themselves as information providers and manufacturers who recognize that contractors and end-users are more frequently turning to websites for more comprehensive information, company websites are becoming more important and more robust. The challenge, unfortunately, is that as sites expand, maintaining them becomes more of a challenge.
A recent posting from The Internet Marketing Report entitled “45-ways-to-exploit-bored-teens-for online marketing good” was forwarded to us by a distributor. The newsletter offered a number of ideas that could benefit any distributor and manufacturer.
Ideas include:
- Review your Web site for old content.
- Create individual title tags for each page. Many sites use the same title on every page, wasting great search engine optimization opportunities.
- Make sure your logo is clickable.
- Review rival’s search results.
- Sign you up for rivals’ e-zines, newsletters, etc
- Ask them to see what kinds of videos and photos are being posted online that your company could use.
- Think of a unique widget that could get visitors to stay longer on your site.
- Check that all images have alt tags.
- Suggest/design some signature blocks that your execs could use on the bottom of every e-mail.
These are just some of the ideas. More on available on the report and many could be done by an intern / part-time employee.
These, and more, are some of the ideas that can help you improve the return on investment in your website. What are you doing to add neat, valuable features to your site? Do you know how many people are visiting your site and why?
