Philadelphia Region Electric Expo 2022 Returns!
As the electrical industry bounced back from Covid, one of the things that many realized is that this is a relationship business AND contractors love to see product. Distributor and rep agencies quickly re-engaged with contractors (and some never lost the personal, face-to-face, contact.)
In many instances, manufacturers suffered the most. The ability to engage and, more importantly, the ability to show product … and new product.
Somehow, digital marketing has not yet found a way to create 3D interaction with a product.
Further, contractors, and their staffs, are either on the job-site or short-staffed.
Distributors, reps and localized tradeshows have shown that people want connectivity. In fact, in the lighting space, a number of manufacturers have shared that they have increased their support for local shows (distributor, agent and associations.)
While distributors may run shows, there are a few regional shows that historically were well attended. One of them is the Electric Expo run by the Electrical Association of Philadelphia.
The EAP has over 300 members (manufacturers, distributors, electrical and HVACR contractors, engineers, and other influencers, including PECO.) This area’s contractor-served electrical distribution market size, according to DISC, is almost a $1 billion electrical distribution market.
The show floor is almost sold-out, however, EAP asked if they could reach out to additional manufacturers and technology companies interested in reaching electrical contractors via ElectricalTrends to make them aware of the show (after all, the last one was in 2019!)
