Investing in the Industry … ACES Invests in Apprentices
With the electrical industry being challenged with staffing at all levels, it’s important for electrical distributors and manufacturers to invest in those who desire to be part of the industry (apprentices) as these are tomorrow’s customers … either as installers who could influence last minute discretionary purchases (change orders, need for additional / forgotten material), become “staff” (project managers, estimators, purchasing), or eventually run their own business.
Investing into future customer staff is an investment into your business … it’s a branding tool (or, as someone once said “train them ‘young’.”
Atlantic Coast Electric Supply (ACES) recently recognized graduating apprentices from CECA (Charleston Electrical Contractors Association) and shared this press release:
CECA and ACES Collaborate to Host Apprenticeship Graduation and Oyster Roast
“The Charleston Electrical Contractors Association, often referred to as CECA, a leading organization in electrical apprenticeship programs, held its annual apprenticeship graduation and oyster roast at their North Charleston, SC headquarters training facility on November 9th. With well over 150 in attendance, including graduates, their sponsors, families, CECA members and supporting partners such as Atlantic Coast Electric Supply (ACES). The collaborative spirit and support from the electrical contractor community contributed to making this event successful.
Butch Clift who manages the apprenticeship program for CECA said he was extremely pleased with the size of the graduating class and the enthusiastic attendance as well as participation from the electrical professionals in the Charleston area. A total of 42 graduates were honored, receiving their well-deserved achievement certificates.
Within the graduating class, 11 individuals successfully concluded the electrical apprenticeship program, 20 excelled in Projection Supervision, and another 11 graduated from the Project Manager program.
CECA took pride in recognizing each graduating student with gifts, generously provided by the organization, manufacturers like Klein Tools and supporting distributors such as ACES. Notably, ACES, headquartered close to the CECA facility in Summerville, South Carolina, played a significant role in enhancing the graduation event’s overall success. ACES’ photo booth enriched the overall experience of the evening, making it a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone in attendance.
Casey Getz, VP of Charleston Area, “As a company, Atlantic Coast Electric Supply has a commitment to supporting our industry at all levels. The CECA Apprenticeship Program is one of the ways we can give back to our industry and help it continue to grow. ACES will continue to help support and grow the education of our industry at all levels.”
Distributors should reach out to the apprentice programs in their market, if available, as a means of giving back to the industry and as an element of their marketing strategy.
And an oyster roast sounds interesting … and tasty!
