I.B.I.S. Inc. Named Top Microsoft U.S. Distribution Partner
This press release announcing that Microsoft recognized I.B.I.S. as its US Distribution Partner of the Year came across our desk the other day and basically it’s interesting because I.B.I.S., Inc. was just one of the companies we featured in our Tech Vision Series on ElectricalTrends.com last month.
In the hunt for new and innovative software products that combine research and development, I was intrigued by what I had seen at Convergence 2015 earlier in the year (which I commented on in late March) and started to follow I.B.I.S. Inc.
A number of the basic distributor problems were answered during that visit to Convergence in Atlanta and they were namely productivity problem that distributors encounter daily such as uploading pricing spreadsheets and then having the ability to download from Dynamics AX the same type of data. Here-to-fore, sales personnel would take spreadsheets to IT and for the lack of another of describing the situation….it was take a number and get in line. In the meantime competitors beat you to market. These types of functions are native to Microsoft’s AX and Excel. Heck everyone uses Excel.
In addition a user could sync and attach Outlook, Word and voice-mails to customer records. For someone like myself, the ability to roll all that information into a customer record without re-inventing the wheel meant that all those MS Office products can actually add to productivity.
I suspect that Microsoft looked at what I.B.I.S. Inc. was doing by adding BI (business intelligence) in as part of an AX sale as smart business along with their Advanced Supply Chain Software that really put more productive power in the hands of the distributor. Congratulations to I.B.I.S.,Inc.for US Distribution Partner of the Year.
In August Microsoft sponsored an event to feature some of their technology to the attendees of the NAED Technology Boot camp. Many of the distributor attendees were very positive about what they saw and in some cases they had no idea that Microsoft and I.B.I.S.,Inc. were offering such advanced software that solved so many of the everyday productivity issues as well as offering flexibility.
Now, I understand that Microsoft and I.B.I.S.,Inc are teaming up to offer regional events that will let distributors see their offering firsthand – Hands Free Worker Productivity, 3D Printing, Social Listening and Machine Learning with workshops. Should be interesting.
